SOCIAL SERVICES STATUTORY ASSESSMENT

A statutory assessment of a PATIENT subject either to a MENTAL HEALTH CARE SPELL or some other health care service, carried out by a social worker acting for the relevant Local Authority Social Services. The assessment forms part of the Local Authority Social Services duties and responsibilities under the Mental Health Act 1983 as amended by the Mental Health (Patients in the Community) Act 1995, or under the provisions of the National Health Service and Community Care Act 1990.
