A HOSPITAL PROVIDER SPELL is a continuous stay of a PATIENT using a hospital bed under the care of a HEALTH CARE PROVIDER.

On admission to hospital, at the start of a HOSPITAL PROVIDER SPELL, a number of items of information are relevant, such as the current ADDRESS ASSOCIATION of the PATIENT. If the ADDRESS ASSOCIATION of the PATIENT changes during their HOSPITAL PROVIDER SPELL, both the new and the previous address are needed for contracting purposes. PATIENTS who are detained will have a LEGAL STATUS and those from abroad will have a PERSON NATIONALITY OR RESIDENCY STATUS.
