WF010 - WORKFORCE POSTS

  1. This diagram together with WF020 and WF030 show the classes relevant to workforce posts.

  2. SERVICE POINT has been used to indicate the parts of the organisation structure that may be involved (see GN010). SERVICE POINTS are hierarchically structured and may represent any organisation grouping or sub-division of an ORGANISATION down to the lowest level required.

  3. The plan for staffing each SERVICE POINT is held as a STAFFING LEVEL PLANNED, with start and end dates, each for a different STAFF GROUP PLANNED. STAFF GROUP is at a high level of classification and ORGANISATIONS may wish to plan using a more detailed level of classification.

  4. A MEDICAL AND DENTAL POST may involve work in more than one ORGANISATION but there will be only one ORGANISATION responsible for the post. A MEDICAL AND DENTAL POST may have one or more MEDICAL AND DENTAL STAFF POSTINGS, where each posting is filled by an EMPLOYEE with an EMPLOYEE CONTRACT.

  5. There is one ORGANISATION that is responsible for paying each EMPLOYEE but, in some circumstances, an EMPLOYEE could also have an EMPLOYEE CONTRACT with another ORGANISATION.

  6. A medical or dental EMPLOYEE, through an EMPLOYEE CONTRACT, may have several (concurrent) MEDICAL AND DENTAL STAFF POSTINGS. Non-medical and dental staff with EMPLOYEE CONTRACTS will have NON MEDICAL AND DENTAL STAFF POSTINGS.

  7. Each MEDICAL AND DENTAL POST and each NON MEDICAL AND DENTAL STAFF POSTING will have a STAFF GROUP PLANNED. There will be a STAFFING LEVEL PLANNED for a period for every STAFF GROUP PLANNED.

  8. Agency staff used by a SERVICE POINT will involve an AGENCY COST BY STAFF GROUP for each PAY PERIOD.
