CONSULTANT SPECIALTY FUNCTION links the TREATMENT FUNCTIONS that apply to a particular CONSULTANT and provides information on the treatment interest for CONSULTANT OUT-PATIENT EPISODES. A CONSULTANT OUT-PATIENT EPISODE may be classified by a LOCAL SUB-SPECIALTY.
-
A PATIENT may have more than one concurrent CONSULTANT OUT-PATIENT EPISODE but each CONSULTANT OUT-PATIENT EPISODE must be for one PATIENT only. Each CONSULTANT OUT-PATIENT EPISODE is the responsibility of a CONSULTANT.
-
A CONSULTANT CLINIC is an administrative arrangement enabling patients to see a CONSULTANT, the CONSULTANT’s staff and associated health professionals. A clinic is usually run by one CONSULTANT; however in the case of joint clinics, the CONSULTANTS sharing responsibility with the main CONSULTANT are SHARED CLINIC CONSULTANTS. There is always one CONSULTANT in charge of the CONSULTANT CLINIC.
-
A PATIENT may also have a number of HOME DIALYSIS EPISODES.
