HP280 - DISABLEMENT APPLIANCES

1. This diagram illustrates information requirements relevant to PATIENTS requiring DISABLEMENT APPLIANCES.

2. DISABLEMENT APPLIANCES may be issued to a PATIENT during, or as the result of, a PROFESSIONAL STAFF GROUP EPISODE (see HP270) or a CONSULTANT OUT-PATIENT EPISODE (see HP030).

3. A DISABLEMENT APPLIANCE will be supplied by a DISABLEMENT APPLIANCE CONTRACTOR. It may undergo DISABLEMENT APPLIANCE REPAIRS by either the same or a different DISABLEMENT APPLIANCE CONTRACTOR.

4. PATIENTS may use WHEELCHAIR SERVICES VOUCHERS to obtain unpowered wheelchairs under a variety of schemes. Alternatively, a POWERED WHEELCHAIR may be made available to the PATIENT.
