HP290 - NURSE AND MIDWIFE CONTACTS
-
This diagram shows the classes relevant to NURSE OR MIDWIFE CONTACTS.
-
A NURSE OR MIDWIFE CONTACT involves a contact between a PATIENT (or client) and a NURSE or a MIDWIFE. The classes on the diagram that are related to NURSE OR MIDWIFE CONTACT are all types of contacts that are made by a NURSE or a MIDWIFE, either in hospital or in the community. Most of these classes are referred to separately in other diagrams.
-
One type of contact is at a CLINIC ATTENDANCE NON-CONSULTANT, for which Time Seen need only be recorded on a sampling basis to be determined locally.
-
Antenatal and postnatal care delivered by a MIDWIFE, other than that provided by admission to a hospital, may be delivered during a:
- CLINIC ATTENDANCE MIDWIFE;
- MATERNITY DOMICILIARY VISIT at home;
- planned PROFESSIONAL ADVICE AND SUPPORT CONTACT (see CM080);
- FACE TO FACE CONTACT SURVEILLANCE (see CM040). -
The provision of support services for home confinements and for emergencies occurring outside hospital involves the organisation of a flying squad which may make MATERNITY DOMICILIARY VISITS.
