This is the paediatrician's assessment of the length of gestation according to the WHO definition of gestation. The length of gestation is measured from first day of the last menstrual period. The gestational age should be recorded in completed weeks: e.g. events occurring 280-286 days after the onset of the last menstrual period are considered to have occurred at 40 weeks gestation.
