An episode of care provided to a drug misuser. It begins when a drug misuser uses a DRUG MISUSE FACILITY for the first time or returns after a period of at least six months. A user of multiple DRUG MISUSE FACILITIES from one DRUG MISUSE AGENCY will have multiple DRUG MISUSE EPISODES.

There may also be a COMMUNITY EPISODE for the PATIENT concerning the SUBSTANCE MISUSED if during the DRUG MISUSED EPISODE the PATIENT is in contact with a Community Psychiatric Nurse.
