An immunisation dose given to a PERSON within an IMMUNISATION PROGRAMME.

It must be noted that it is often the case that one injection may include immunisation against more than one disease; such an injection is said to be considered a part of many programmes as the disease it is aimed to prevent. For example, it is common for doses of vaccine against diphtheria, tetanus and pertussis to be delivered as a dose injection is given. It is not relevant to the disease prevention programme whether the doses are delivered in triples, doubles or singly, only that they are delivered. However, there is a requirement to report centrally the number of measles, mumps and rubella (MMR) triples given.
