NIGHT CONSULTATION VISIT

A type of ITEM OF SERVICE DELIVERY.

A face to face consultation conducted by a GENERAL MEDICAL PRACTITIONER with a PATIENT, requested and carried out between the hours of 10pm and 8am, for which a fee can be claimed.

The consultation visit may be conducted by the GENERAL MEDICAL PRACTITIONER on whose permanent list the PATIENT has been accepted, or a GENERAL MEDICAL PRACTITIONER who acts as a deputy. Deputies include deputising services, trainees, assistants, associates or locums employed by the GENERAL MEDICAL PRACTITIONER (or by GENERAL MEDICAL PRACTITIONER in the same non-commercial rota).

Note that ITEMS OF SERVICE DELIVERY reimbursement cannot be claimed by those GENERAL MEDICAL PRACTITIONERS who hold a Personal Medical Services, as opposed to a General Medical Services, contract.
