SCREENING TEST

A test performed on a PERSON to detect a specific disease or impairment, which may be carried out as part of a SCREENING PROGRAMME. It should be noted that individuals may have to be re-tested shortly after an initial test for technical reasons such as the loss of sample, an unsatisfactory test procedure, or an inconclusive result. The SCREENING TEST is not complete until such re-tests have been satisfactorily completed.
