PT010 - PATIENT TRANSPORT REQUESTS
-
This diagram shows the classes relevant to patient transport requests.
-
An AMBULANCE SERVICE may be a SERVICE, in which case all TRANSPORT REQUESTS made to a HEALTH CARE PROVIDER are funded by a single commissioner. Alternatively, PATIENT TRANSPORT JOURNEYS provided may be funded by the commissioner responsible for the individual PATIENT, as part of their overall health care.
-
A PATIENT TRANSPORT JOURNEY is the transportation of one PATIENT between destinations. Each PATIENT TRANSPORT JOURNEY is initiated by a single TRANSPORT REQUEST (to an AMBULANCE SERVICE) which is either an EMERGENCY TRANSPORT REQUEST, an URGENT TRANSPORT REQUEST, a SPECIAL TRANSPORT REQUEST or a PLANNED TRANSPORT REQUEST.
-
PICK-UP TIME PROMISED and ACTUAL PICK-UP TIME, used to calculate waiting times, need only be recorded for PATIENT TRANSPORT JOURNEYS on a sampling basis to be determined locally.
-
A TRANSPORT REQUEST may be made as part of a TRANSPORT REQUIREMENT. A TRANSPORT REQUIREMENT is raised either by a REFERRAL REQUEST or because of a PLANNED SERVICE TO BE PROVIDED. TRANSPORT REQUIREMENTS are part of GP-Hospital communications and are described in MS030.
